We created this tour with great care and attention to detail, after realizing that many food experiences in the city rely on the same overcrowded, overhyped spots. Instead of following trends, we focused on finding truly authentic Mexican food places, selected for their quality, cleanliness, and low health risk. This experience combines gastronomy and history as you explore Coyoacán’s most important corners. You’ll learn about the neighborhood’s past, its vibrant streets, and its cultural significance, all while enjoying traditional Mexican flavors in a safe, authentic, and thoughtfully curated way.

This tour offers 3 different routes, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your preferences:

Each one of the routes has a different possible pickup time window stated below, depending on the opening time of the food places.

Route 1: Food Tasting

Pickup time window for this route: 08:30 AM to 3:00 PM

Itinerary: 

• After pickup at your accommodation, we’ll drive to Coyoacán, where the food tasting will take place at our favorite spot inside Coyoacán’s traditional food market. This is a seated tasting experience, allowing you to enjoy a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes in one comfortable location. By staying in one place throughout the tasting, this option offers a relaxed and enjoyable way to experience Mexican gastronomy, making it the most comfortable choice among our food tours.
• After the Tasting we'll continue with the Historical Tour at Coyoacan.
• Drop-Off back at your accomodation or desired location.

Route 2: Food Tour

Pickup time window for this route: 08:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Itinerary: 

• After pickup at your accommodation, we’ll drive to Coyoacán, where you’ll enjoy a combined food and historical walking tour. As we move through Coyoacán’s neighborhood, you’ll visit different food spots while learning about the area’s history, culture, and most iconic corners.
• Drop-Off back at your accomodation or desired location.

Route 3: Taco Tasting + Night Street Food

Pickup time window for this route: 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Itinerary: 

• After pickup at your accomodation we will drive to our personal favorite Taco Place where the flavors are guaranteed to be amazing and authentic, in a Non touristy place. At this location youi'll do the Taco Tasting Experience with our guide tasting the 4 most popular Tacos in Mexico City with our guide.
• Afterwards we'll go to Coyoacan to continue with the Historic + Night Street Food Tour, focused on sweets, desserts & typical street snacks.
• Drop-Off back at your accomodation or desired location.

How does the tour work?

• This tour includes transportation and a bilingual guide only; food is not included in the price. This approach helps keep the tour cost as low as possible while allowing you to fully customize the experience based on your appetite and personal preferences. 
• Guests are responsible for paying for their food at each stop, and all selected locations accept both cash and credit cards. At the beginning of the tour, our guide will ask about any allergies, dietary restrictions, or food preferences, and will take care of ordering the food on your behalf at each stop to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

What is the average cost of the food?

• The estimated total cost of food during the tours ranges from approximately MXN $400 to MXN $900 per person. This amount largely depends on the number of establishments visited, based on the client’s preferences. Clients will have full control over their food expenses.

We can customize the tour and do it at your own pace. (3 hour limit once arriving to the tour site, it's possible to add extra time for a small extra cost but we dont consider it necessary).
